FAQ
How is in-hand salary calculated from CTC?
CTC minus the employer's PF contribution gives gross salary; subtract your own PF, professional tax and income tax to get the amount credited monthly. CTC components like gratuity, insurance and variable pay inflate CTC without reaching your monthly account.
What are the FY 2026-27 new regime tax slabs?
Nil to ₹4 lakh, 5% to ₹8 lakh, 10% to ₹12 lakh, 15% to ₹16 lakh, 20% to ₹20 lakh, 25% to ₹24 lakh and 30% above, on income after the ₹75,000 standard deduction. The Section 87A rebate makes tax nil when taxable income is within ₹12 lakh — so salaried income up to ₹12.75 lakh is tax-free. Budget 2026 left these unchanged.
Does this include the old regime?
No — the calculator models the new regime, which is the default and best for most people without large deductions. If you claim high HRA, 80C and home-loan interest, compare the old regime separately before choosing.
